Firetree is a 24-foot-tall, multimedia sculpture adorned with polished copper masks, flowering plants, aluminum figurines, and other elements that characterize our human journey on Earth.
It presents our complex planet and its global community as a solitary tree, standing tall, with diverse roots anchoring deeply into Earth’s remarkable ecosystem.
IGNITING A GLOBAL VISION
Daytime visitors are greeted by a tapestry of details and the glitter of light dancing across a canopy of 300 reflective stainless-steel leaves.
After dark, the core structure can be set ablaze or made ready with a light show and music to create a dazzling spectacle that symbolizes the bright power we each hold to build a “Strong Planet Future.”
Firetree celebrates collaboration; Pittsburgh artists working in metal, glass, paint, and fiber contributed to the project.
