The Steel Tree

Consider our human world, with its many cultural variations, connected all together into one towering entity. The Firetree Project visualized this concept as a broad reaching Tree of Humanity, a fabricated steel tree anchored onto something that would represent our  planet and the forces that maintain its life sustaining habitat. Clearly, this could not be your typical base for a sculpture. What developed over time was a curved platform that reimagines our Earth as a living thing, a masked creature with spinning wheels and feathered wings that can travel, seemingly effortlessly, through the starlit space of our universe.

The Flame

The blazing column of fire within Firetree exclaims, "Plus Ultra!” A battle cry of sorts, challenging the world to embrace the most redeeming qualities of human nature; resilience, courage, and grace to go Further Beyond toward building a strong and lasting future for life on Earth, our garden planet flying solo in the cosmos.
